Community investment
As part of our Neighbourhood Strategy, Medina is committed to developing a wide range of investment resources to enable local communities to build their capacity and flourish. We already attract funding from various charitable sources for the Foyer for the Island. We hope to extend this further to include other aspects of our neighbourhood work.
We are working closely with the Isle of Wight Council's Arts Unit to attract funding for investment in local estates. We are also in the process of developing a Social Enterprise Strategy, which will be geared towards helping our tenants to become involved in business ventures. In addition to this, we are developing new approaches to working with Island businesses to generate sponsorship and employment opportunities.
We believe that in working to enhance communities' ability to be self sustaining, we will improve the quality of life for Island residents and act to reduce the deprivation which affects many households on low incomes across the Island.
Further details of this work will be posted in the near future.
