What your payment covers and how to pay it
The rent you pay to Western Challenge helps to finance the following;
- The housing service
- The maintenance service
- The improvement programme including replacement kitchens and bathrooms.
- The loans we take out to build affordable homes such as the one you live in.
You may also pay a service charge. This charge goes directly to pay for certain services that you receive such as cleaning and gardening.
Your payments are due weekly in advance. If you only pay a service charge, this will be due calendar monthly in advance. You can make your payments in a number of ways;
- Online payments - you can make payments online through BillPay a secure internet payment site run by our partner Alliance and Leicester. You will need you bank details and your tenancy number at hand when you do this. (Please check your tenancy number carefully when using the system as this is how we can tell the payment is from you.)
- Direct Debit - you can get payments made automatically from your bank account so you don't have to remember to send the cheque or visit the Post Office
- Giro card – you can use the card to pay cash or cheque at the Post Office or at a retail outlet displaying the Payzone sign
- Cheques – please make cheques payable to ‘Western Challenge Housing Association’ and send them to our Head Office in Christchurch. Please remember to write your tenancy number and address on the back of the cheque.
- Credit/Debit card – you can pay over the telephone by calling 0800 783 7837 (0300 777 7837 for mobile users). We accept Mastercard; Maestro; Visa/Visa Electron; Solo and American Express.
- Cash – can be paid at any of our local offices during normal working hours. Please do not send cash through the post.
